Why choose GoggleSquad for swimming lessons?

Swim teaching with heart

GoggleSquad was founded by former Great Britain and England swimmer Nicola Ayers when she found that many parents and adult learners alike were crying out for high quality swimming lessons in an environment designed to help learners progress fast.

Nicola has some essential priorities that guide every decision she makes, from hiring teachers and planning her swim teaching programme to selecting new teaching venues.

Instructors who care

Having great instructors with the appropriate qualifications and experience is key, but if instructors are simply going through the motions, then learners may as well watch a YouTube swimming tutorial instead. At GoggleSquad, all instructors follow the industry-leading Swim England Learn To Swim Framework but we don’t stop there. Learners need to be engaged, which means our instructors give oodles of feedback, guidance, encouragement and praise to boost motivation, confidence and skills.

Small, tailored classes

Crowded swimming lessons don’t work. We’ve all seen those lessons where the instructors look more like they’re herding cats than teaching. One-to-one and smaller classes allow for more attention and better instruction and support. We do our best to ensure learners are alongside others at a similar stage of their swimming journey so that classes are tailored to their needs, allowing them to consistently build up their skills with every lesson.

Excellent facilities

F-f-f-f-f-r-eezing pool? Cracked tiles? Poor ventilation? Parking half a mile away? No thank you! We go all out to find the best swimming pool venues we can. Of course they should be properly maintained and equipped with all the important safety features you’d expect, but they should also provide a calm and welcoming environment where learners can thrive.

Proper feedback

Feedback is crucial for learners’ development. That’s why GoggleSquad instructors teach in the pool and not just from the poolside. We actively keep parents up to date about their child’s development and how they are progressing in line with the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework.

Fun!

When learning is fun it doesn’t feel like learning. Swimming lessons should be enjoyable, rather than something everyone dreads. After all, there’s nothing worse than pre-lesson moaning. For younger learners incorporating play into lessons is an important feature of our swim programme, providing a variety of activities and games to help them develop their swimming ability.
