Lessons with heart by instructors who care…

GoggleSquad swimming instructors have oodles of experience. They all follow the gold standard Swim England Learn To Swim Framework, but that’s just part of the story. There’s no ‘going through the motions’ at GoggleSquad. Learners need to be engaged, so our amazing instructors give lots of feedback, guidance, encouragement and praise to boost motivation, confidence and skills. 

  • Nicola Ayers, Founder, GoggleSquad Swimming School

    NICOLA AYERS

    GoggleSquad founder Nic is an ASA Level 2 instructor and has taught for 16 years. Having competed for England and GB in synchronised swimming, she established GoggleSquad in 2020. Nicola oversees all swim teaching and also teaches at Claygate and Imber Court.

  • Adam Messeder, Instructor, GoggleSquad Swimming School

    ADAM MESSEDER

    Adam’s been a Level 2 instructor for over 16 years and is qualified to Assistant Club Coach level. Alongside swim teaching, Adam works as a firefighter for West Sussex Fire and Rescue and has been in the fire service for 14 years. Adam teaches at Cobham Feltonfleet and Imber Court.

  • Sophie Cowan, Instructor, GoggleSquad Swimming School

    SOPHIE COWAN

    Sophie has been a Level 2 swimming instructor for more than 14 years and teaches children and adults at Cobham Notre Dame and Imber Court in East Molesey. Sophie is also a qualified water fitness instructor and has her national rescue award for swimming teachers and coaches.

  • Suzan Laverick, Instructor, GoggleSquad Swimming School

    SUZAN LAVERICK

    Suzan has over 10 years’ experience teaching children and adults to swim and joined GoggleSquad after a decade at Water Babies, the respected swim school dedicated to baby and toddler swimming, where she was a senior teacher. Suzan teaches at Walton-on-Thames and Cobham Feltonfleet.

  • Taya Harvey, Instructor, GoggleSquad Swimming School

    TAYA HARVEY

    Taya's love of swimming started as a junior member of the respected Kingston Royals swim club. Little did she know that this early start would lay the foundation for a career dedicated to swimming. Taya is the Swim Manager at Imber Court and also teaches at our Cobham Notre Dame venue.

  • Sarah Warren-Smith GoggleSquad

    SARAH WARREN-SMITH

    Sarah is a Level 2 swimming instructor with many years’ teaching experience under her belt. She competed for Elmbridge Phoenix and Staines and previously trained as a synchronised swimmer for Hounslow. She’s also a British Gymnastics high performance coach and teaches in East Molesey.

  • Alex Armstrong GoggleSquad

    ALEX ARMSTRONG

    Alex is a seasoned Level 2 swimming instructor with nearly ten years’ experience teaching learners of all ages. He is also an accomplished competitive swimmer who has made a significant mark in the world of swimming, competing for his country of birth, Spain. Alex teachers at our Cobham Feltonfleet pool.

  • Rachel Weaver GoggleSquad

    RACHEL WEAVER

    A Level 2 instructor with 17 years’ teaching experience, Rachel has taught a diverse range of learners, from newborns and toddlers to youngsters progressing through the advanced stages of the Swim England Framework. Rachel teaches at our East Molesey, Walton-on-Thames and Kingston venues.

  • Tanya Van Straaten Swimming Instructor

    TANYA VAN STRAATEN

    Tanya is a Level 2 swimming instructor with specialist qualifications for teaching parent and child classes. Hailing from South Africa, she has been teaching swimming for more than nine years and instructs babies and toddlers at our Claygate venue as well as Walton-on-Thames and East Molesey.

  • Alison Walsh GoggleSquad instructor

    ALISON WALSH

    Alison is an experienced Level 2 swimming coach with many years’ experience helping children and adults hone their swimming skills. Also an accomplished cyclist and runner, Alison qualified for the Team GB Triathlon squad in 2022. Alison teachers at our Cobham Feltonleet pool.

  • Juliette Piesley GoggleSquad Instructor

    JULIETTE PIESLEY

    Juliette brings years of experience to GoggleSquad, having taught children and adults of all ages and abilities as well as coaching athletes. As a youngster, she competed for Staines Swimming Club and currently swims for the respected Teddington Masters. Juliet teaches at Cobham Feltonfleet.

  • Mark Kennealy GoggleSquad Instructor

    MARK KENNEALY

    Experienced Level 2 swimming instructor and Swim England coach, Mark Kennealy teaches children and adults as well as being an experienced open water swimmer in the UK’s lakes and seas. Mark teaches at our Cobham Feltonfleet and East Molesey Imber Court venues.

  • Sheree Hargreaves GoggleSquad

    SHEREE HARGREAVES

    Level 2 instructor and former competitive swimmer Sheree has taught children and adults how to swim for more than 30 years. She has vast experience teaching learners with special educational needs and is also a certified Aquafit instructor. Sheree teaches at Cobham Feltonfleet and East Molesey.

  • Esme Beer swimming instructor

    ESME BEER

    Experienced Swim England Level 2 instructor Esme enjoys the calmness and freedom that swimming brings. When she’s not in the pool or by the sea, Esme enjoys painting and drawing and is training to become an Art Psychotherapist. She teaches at our Kingston upon Thames venue on Sundays.

  • Miles Hearne GoggleSquad

    MILES HEARNE

    Miles is an experienced Level 2 swimming instructor who’s also qualified to teach learners with special educational needs and disabilities. An advanced diver and skydiver, he held the record of fastest 50m Butterfly swimmer in the UK. Miles teaches at Cobham Feltonfleet and Kingston upon Thames.

  • JAKOB GOULDING

    A Level 2 instructor with 10+ years’ experience, Jakob’s calm and patient approach helps every swimmer thrive. Outside the pool, he’s a scuba diver, freediver, surfer and marine biologist, bringing his love for the ocean into everything he teaches. Jakob teaches in Claygate and East Molesey.

  • MATTHEW SWING

    A Level 2 instructor with a lifelong love of swimming, Matt represented Hounslow at county level, winning medals across the UK and Europe. Matt’s a football coach and proud dad, often cheering his kids on from the sidelines. Matt teaches at Cobham Feltonfleet and East Molesey.

  • BOBBY IRANI

    Level 2 instructor Bobby has over 20 years’ experience teaching swimmers of all ages - from parent-and-baby lessons to adult improvers. Over the years, he’s developed a structured yet fun teaching style. When not teaching, he enjoys open-water swimming. Bobby teaches at our Cobham Feltonfleet venue.

  • SARAH KENNEDY

    Sarah’s a Level 2 instructor with specialist training in competitive, adult and school-age swim teaching, as well as for learners with disabilities. When not in the pool, she enjoys time with her six children and eating out - especially if there’s a great steak on the menu! Sarah teaches at Imber Court in East Molesey.

  • LAUREN WHITE-BEDDOES

    An experienced Swim England Level 1 & 2 instructor and Level 1 Dive Coach, Lauren competed in swimming from the tender age of 10. She enjoys scuba-diving, working out in the the gym, gardening, cooking and spending quality time with friends and family. Lauren teaches at Feltonfleet in Cobham.

  • Araceli Cruz GoggleSquad Instructor

    ARACELI CRUZ

    Araceli’s a Level 2 swimming teacher and coach who’s been swimming since childhood, first learning in Mexico and later developing a love for open water. After teaching her four children to swim she was encouraged by her Masters coach to teach professionally. She teaches at Feltonfleet in Cobham.

  • CELINE CROSSWELL

    A Level 2 instructor and former national club swimmer from Dublin, Celine began teaching after helping young swimmers in her club and qualified with both the Irish Amateur Swimming Association and Swim England. She enjoys riverside walks with her Cockapoo, Archie, and swimming to keep fit. Celine teaches at our Imber Court venue.

  • FIONA TWEEDIE

    Fiona’s a Level 2 ASA instructor who has been teaching since university. A lifelong swimmer, she competed at the Junior Olympics, swam at national level and has competed in triathlons and even an Ironman. Outside the pool she’s also an artist. Fiona teaches at Imber Court in East Molesey on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
