GoggleSquad to Provide Year-Round Swimming Lessons for Cranmere School

GoggleSquad Swim School is proud to announce a new partnership with Cranmere Primary School in Esher, providing high-quality swimming lessons for pupils across Key Stage 2.

From this academic year, Cranmere has extended its swimming provision so children receive a full term of swimming lessons each year. This significant change recognises the importance of giving children consistent, year-round opportunities to build water confidence and develop vital swimming skills.

Lessons will take place at Imber Court, East Molesey, where GoggleSquad recently took over management of the swim school. Pupils will benefit from the same high standards that have earned GoggleSquad an outstanding local reputation: small group sizes, personalised support and expert tuition. Classes will be taught in groups of just 3-6 children, ensuring every pupil receives tailored guidance.

The programme will be led by Swim Manager Taya Harvey, an experienced instructor who oversees GoggleSquad’s teaching team at Imber Court, alongside two equally experienced swimming teachers Rachel Weaver and Mark Kennealy. Together, they will deliver lessons aligned with the KS2 national curriculum swimming objectives - ensuring children can swim at least 25 metres competently, confidently and proficiently, while also developing a range of strokes and basic self-rescue skills.

Headteacher Paul Gilbert explained the school’s decision in a letter to parents:

“This year, we’ve extended our swimming lessons to a full term rather than a half-term. This will allow children to make more progress and embed their skills more effectively. We are excited to be working with GoggleSquad, who will provide lessons in small groups of 3-6, ensuring each child receives tailored, personalised support.”

At the end of Year 5, pupils will be assessed against national swimming standards, with catch-up lessons available in Year 6 for any child who has not yet met the requirements.

“This partnership with Cranmere reflects our shared belief in the importance of swimming as a life skill,” said Nicola Ayers, Founder of GoggleSquad and former Great Britain synchronised swimmer. “We are delighted to provide Cranmere pupils with a structured, consistent programme that ensures every child has the opportunity to progress with confidence.”
